About The Position

Position Overview: The function of the Kitchen Worker (KW) is to support the operations of the Ladore catering program, including preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to food standards. Description of Position: Assist with food prep/serving/and dining room care Wash dishes/pans from meals as assigned Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen/dining room areas Observe all sanitation rules for food services Observe material handling guidelines for all chemicals Maintain neat and uniform appearance during work hours Perform related duties, as assigned The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • Must pass Servsafe class offered by the Salvation Army.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to be on feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to handle a high paced and often intense work environment.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environment.
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
