About The Position

The Business Infrastructure (BI) Organization within Raytheon BBN Technologies is seeking a full-time summer co-op to focus on end user support for functional and engineering staff at BBN's Cambridge location. As an intern, you'll work independently and side by side with our full-time team, installing and configuring server hardware and networking equipment or working with end users directly to make sure they have all the hardware and software they need. You will also work directly with our engineering staff, external vendors, and collaborators to solve complex and interesting problems.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursing a bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline (i.e. Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with Mac and PC hardware: laptops, and desktops
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 administration, Windows Server, Active Directory, MacOS, and Linux
  • Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP) and LAN/WAN

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of networking essentials including common ports & protocols, DHCP, DNS, switching/routing, firewalls, etc.
  • Familiarity with using Atlassian software products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bit, Bucket)

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, repairs, upgrades, backups, and other computer maintenance tasks
  • Perform telephone installations and removals
  • Setup audio / visual equipment for conference rooms
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • Solve moderately complex problems
  • Regularly maintain hardware and software asset inventory database
