About The Position

The Commonwealth of PA – PEMA is seeking a Desktop / Service Desk Support professional to join the Capitol Area Support Team in Harrisburg. This role is 100% onsite and requires hands-on support for workstations, laptops, Macs, and peripherals in a large enterprise environment. The selected candidate will report daily to PEMA Headquarters and may occasionally assist at other Capitol Area facilities. Free employee parking is available on-site. Work Schedule Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Lunch: Half-hour “working” lunch (Actual start/end times may shift by ±30 minutes)

Requirements

  • 3+ years deploying and supporting PCs in a large enterprise environment (1,000+ PCs)
  • 3+ years developing, testing, and maintaining PC images
  • 3+ years supporting PCs in a large domain environment
  • 3+ years installing and configuring PC hardware and peripherals
  • 3+ years repairing PCs (hardware replacement)
  • 3+ years experience with disk encryption, antivirus, and security tools on Windows and macOS
  • 3+ years Active Directory experience, including GPO and name resolution troubleshooting
  • 3+ years managing profiles and certificates on Windows and macOS
  • 2+ years remote support using SCCM Remote, RDP, and ARD
  • 2+ years MS Office 365 application support
  • 1+ year integrating macOS systems into Active Directory

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years scripting with PowerShell and/or VBScript
  • 2+ years using Configuration Manager Console queries and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Provide deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting support for desktops, laptops, Macs, and peripherals
  • Monitor incident queues, take ownership of issues, and assist end users
  • Maintain accurate and well-documented support tickets
  • Develop, test, and maintain PC images
  • Repair PCs (hard drives, motherboards, memory, etc.)
  • Support MS Office 365 across Windows and macOS environments
  • Use remote support tools (SCCM Remote, RDP, ARD)
  • Troubleshoot Active Directory, GPOs, name resolution, profiles, and certificates
  • Monitor device compliance and health (SCCM clients, patching, OS/application issues)
  • Escalate issues and collaborate with SCCM, AD, Security, and IT Service Desk teams
  • Provide documentation on issue resolution as required
