The SUD Counselor is responsible for supporting clients in adjusting their belief systems and patterns of behavior that has led to continued substance use disorder. This provider utilizes various methods of therapy to effectively communicate and facilitate group or one on one sessions with clients and their families. The SUD Counselor determines the level of care that is needed for each client.The individual in this role will organize services and support the facilitation of a client’s recovery and achievement of life goals which improves functioning in the home, school, workplace, and community.
