About The Position

On-Call Substitute Translator Intended for Interpretation- Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish required This substitute performs interpretation services, accompanying the District Enrollment Specialist to home visits. Basic Functions: Under the direction of the assigned administrator, a substitute employee in this classification is one who is hired with the understanding that his/her association with Gilroy Unified School District will be as an on-call sub as needed basis. Substitute employees are paid at an hourly rate, as determined by the district. Typical Duties: (to include but not limited to) Accompany the District Enrollment Specialist on home visits within the city limits to provide interpretation services (Spanish/English) Performs varied and responsible translation duties to assist in the coordination and processing of routine administration operations within the assigned department

Requirements

• Speak, read and write English and Spanish fluently
• Maintain confidentiality pertaining to all district matters
• Communicate effectively and professionally in oral and written form
• Establish positive working relationships with all district personnel

Responsibilities

• Accompany the District Enrollment Specialist on home visits within the city limits to provide interpretation services (Spanish/English)
• Performs varied and responsible translation duties to assist in the coordination and processing of routine administration operations within the assigned department
• Interpret for staff and parents by phone, and home visits
