About The Position
Under the direction of the building administrator, provide classroom support to certificated staff in an effort to teach the established curriculum within a structured and nurturing learning environment. Within this general framework, specific assignments will vary.
Requirements
- Basic concepts of child growth and development and developmental behavior characteristics.
- Student behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Appropriate English, punctuation, spelling and grammar usage.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Computer knowledge.
- Routine record management, storage and retrieval systems and procedures.
- Demonstrate an understanding, patient and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults.
- Maintain confidentiality and display ethical behavior.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Current First Aid/CPR card.
Nice To Haves
- College or other in-service training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and/or small group instruction.
- Implement lesson plans for individuals and/or small groups.
- Assist students with assignments, reports, and/or homework.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
