About The Position

Working under the direction of the Food and Nutrition Service Manager and/or assistant manager, the Substitute Food And Nutrition Service Technician stores, prepares and serves food and cleans equipment and food service areas. The role requires meeting with Food Service Administration for specific daily job duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED certificate or have sufficient ability to follow written instructions, schedules, interpret recipes and do the arithmetic necessary to adjust quantities
• Willingness to participate in Food and Nutrition Service training
• Ability and initiative to plan, organize and carry out assignments with minimum of supervision
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students
• Physical stamina and emotional stability to work effectively
• Excellent physical and mental health
• Neat, well groomed appearance

Responsibilities

• Prepares meats, vegetables, salads, dressings, breads, and/or desserts as directed
• Serves on serving line(s)
• Assists in storing groceries, meats, and supplies
• Cleans cooking equipment and kitchen, serving and dining areas as directed
• Assists with maintaining proper sanitation
• Attends workshops as scheduled
• Performs related duties as required
