About The Position

The Precision Testing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting outpatient clinical and medical teams by conducting direct observation drug screening, ensuring accurate documentation, and promoting patient safety through harm reduction education. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent requited.
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience in behavioral health, medical office, or substance use treatment setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Urine Drug Screen (UDS) Collection Perform direct observation drug screening for all outpatient departments in accordance with policy and compliance standards.
  • Documentation and Lab Coordination Accurately document all drug screen results in the electronic medical record (EMR) and coordinate lab requests as needed.
  • Harm Reduction Education Distribute Narcan (naloxone) to eligible patients and provide clear education on its purpose and proper usage.
  • Professional Communication Demonstrate respectful, age-appropriate communication with individuals across diverse backgrounds, functioning levels, and presentations.
  • Customer Service Maintain a professional demeanor, delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring clear, compassionate, and effective communication.
  • Crisis Support and Safety Monitoring Assist in identifying individuals in crisis or distress, conduct basic risk assessments, and appropriately link clinical staff for emergency or routine services.
  • Access to Care and Quality Initiatives Support and implement strategies that enhance patient access and improve care quality within outpatient departments.
  • Retrieve, research, and appropriately route Medication Administration (Med Admin) messages to the correct contact in a timely manner.
  • Support nursing staff and Medication Administration Technicians with daily clinic operations in a fast-paced, open-access environment.
  • Obtain, verify, and accurate document required patient information to ensure the Electronic Health Record (EHR) remains current and complete.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of cultural sensitivity, diversity awareness, and patient privacy rights in all interactions.
  • Maintain strict patient/consumer confidentiality in compliance with organizational policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the on-site pharmacy as needed to support patient care.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, walk-in clinic–style setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Crosstrain in other departmental roles to provide operational support and ensure continuity of care when needed.
