About The Position
General Summary Participates in build, design, configuration, integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions) Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones Make recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications. Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc. May use CAD tools to assist in designing models for drone assembly Documents processes and build techniques Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues Assists in training and curriculum development Participates in testing, data collection and analysis Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement Travel for field testing and/or project meetings may be required At COLSA, people are our most valuable resource and centered at our core value.
