Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Stuffs, hangs, and weighs sausage. Applies casing and bag over stuffing horn, clips bag and/or ties bag for different products. Weighs product on scales in tray or boxes and attaches label to boxes or package. Perform all duties accurately and efficiently. Responsible for housekeeping, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions within the department. Follow policies, rules, regulations, and procedures. Reports any process or equipment problems to supervisor. Acquire and retain thorough knowledge of packaging processes and equipment. Ensure quality of products is maintained. Verifies correct label, weight, and date information on products that you are working with. Work safely under all conditions and procedures. Report work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Basic math skills required. Must be proficient with computer programs such as MS Office, and various ERP systems. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One to three years working in a meat department required. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in a wet and cold (32-40º) environment.
