About The Position

The Studio & Facility Operations Coordinator serves as the operational and technical lead for studio and assigned field productions, overseeing scheduling, facility usage, and production coordination across studios, rental spaces, and off-site locations. This role is the primary point of contact for all studio bookings, rentals, and production logistics and works closely with various departments to ensure that all productions and events are fully supported and operationally ready. The coordinator maintains oversight of equipment, workflows, and studio operations. This position requires an on-site presence. In summary, this individual will: Act as engineering lead for studio operations; manage general coordination and share oversight of equipment inventory, storage, usage and maintenance with the Studio Production Lead (SPL) Oversee and troubleshoot systems and infrastructure Lead all room upgrades within the studios or other assigned areas, ensuring the facility stays current with industry standards Serve as the primary point of coordination for production and technical needs, ensuring the safe and effective execution of lighting and electrical systems Manage the SPL and scheduling/bookings for all assigned spaces; maintain an up-to-date schedule and post accordingly Coordinate with the SPL and Production Assistants to ensure productions are appropriately staffed and executed Collaborate with various departments based on station protocols, best practices and operational needs Consult with relevant department leads to achieve desired results for all facility and studio productions or events Manages budget in conjunction with the AVP of Building Services and Technology Provide support and may assume responsibilities of floor manager studio director, lighting director, camera operator, audio operator and other production related duties as required Develop, train, supervise and lead the department staff; approve timecards for direct reports

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in film production, media technology, broadcasting, engineering, or a related field or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience as stagehand, production assistant/technician; nonprofit experience a plus
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience highly desired
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and understanding of various production systems and related equipment such as studio cameras, video servers/routers/switchers, audio and control boards, lighting systems, character generators, microphones, digital audio workstations (DAW's) and hardware (cables, mic stands, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of audio and video file types, standards and norms
  • Understanding of studio layouts, networks and signal flow
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience with system troubleshooting and addressing matters of urgency
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and project management systems (e.g. Asana)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to safely operate ariel lift/skyjack and forklift (training provided)
  • Valid, current driver license
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
