The Moody Makerspace at Baylor University is seeking a creative, friendly, and outgoing student with a passion for educating others about “making.” The Makerspace provides students, faculty, and staff access to various creative tools and equipment, including 3D printers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, embroidery machines, bike repair, and various hand and powered tools. Maker Mentors are responsible for overseeing the use of this equipment and providing help and guidance to patrons as they develop their projects. This involves assisting patrons through brainstorming, teaching, and supporting equipment and tool use throughout the project lifecycle. An effective Maker Mentor is someone who is open to new experiences, easily connects with new people, and proactively seeks solutions to unique challenges. They are expected to welcome others to the world of making with enthusiasm and an encouraging attitude.
