Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both visual documentation and data entry
  • Ability to follow standardized procedures
  • Basic data entry skills with a high level of consistency
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple files
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., spreadsheets, file naming, data systems)
  • Ability to work in occasional extreme heat while walking to and from campus facilities
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours a week over summer
  • Must be a current Purdue University student
  • Must have basic data entry skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with researching and gathering information about campus buildings using internal databases and online resources
  • Conduct walkthroughs of campus buildings to help verify existing information and note any updates or discrepancies
  • Take clear photos of building signage and other identifying features to support accurate record-keeping
  • Enter and organize data in spreadsheets, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and easy to understand
  • Compare collected information with existing records and flag any differences for review
  • Follow established processes and guidelines for data collection and documentation
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while also communicating questions or issues to supervisors
  • Support ongoing efforts to keep campus building information up to date and well-organized
