About The Position

The Associated Students of the University of Nevada is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels.

Requirements

  • Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits
  • Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents
  • Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct, meet all deadlines set forth, attend all required meetings and training
  • Work scheduled hours, properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time
  • Assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada, and behave in an ethical manner
  • Maintain a high level of integrity, and other duties as called upon by my position
  • I understand if I do not adhere to the items outlined in this agreement or what is stated in the ASUN Governing Documents, my position may be subject to disciplinary action by the ASUN Judicial Council and/or the University of Nevada

  • Willingness to learn about funding processes available to student clubs and organizations, including funding requests, grant applications, fundraising opportunities, and event planning guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and track processing of club requests and needs within assigned coalition
  • Ability to coordinate a consistent system for proactive outreach and meetings with student leaders within assigned coalition through a service-oriented approach that supports their needs with responsiveness to inquiries and willingness to provide assistance
  • Motivation to further the goals and initiatives of ASUN: Enhancing communication between clubs and club commissioners by providing transparent communication methods to offer necessary support and resources Promoting awareness of grant programs and initiatives available to registered clubs and organizations Demonstrating commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in providing support services to clubs and organizations
  • Flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks
  • Willingness to mentor an intern during the fall and spring semesters

Responsibilities

  • Commissioners shall act as liaisons for the clubs and organizations in their coalition(s) appointed by the Director and the Department.
  • Commissioners shall review funding applications that have been submitted by clubs and organizations for Funding Hearings.
  • Commissioners shall attend weekly Department meetings to give a report on projects, initiatives, and general updates on their coalition(s).
  • Commissioners shall serve as a resource to club leaders in their coalition(s) for assistance with club recognition, club renewal, and funding.
  • Commissioners shall reach out to each club in their coalition in an attempt to attend a meeting or activity per year at the discretion of the director of the Clubs and Organizations department.
  • Commissioners shall mentor and educate the Department of Clubs and Organizations Intern(s) that the Interns are assigned to.
