Student Web Developer
About The Position
The role of the Web Developer is to support the senior Web Developer in the design, development, and maintenance of the databases and websites at the English Language Center. In addition, they will need to be present during institution-wide testing at the beginning of the semester and at the end of the semester to manage and resolve any issues that arise with the databases or websites during the testing events. We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to participate in designing and producing scalable software solutions. The hours are flexible, and the position is hybrid (some work can be done remotely while at other times, it will need to be in office).
Requirements
- Front-end languages and libraries
- Required knowledge of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, SQL
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience with: Vue or similar frameworks (e.g., Angular or React)
- Back-end languages and frameworks
- Preferred experience with NodeJS and Django
- Database Management
- Preferred experience with MySQL & PostgreSQL
- IT Infrastructure Administration
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure providers such as AWS, AZURE, vSphere
- Experience maintaining, updating, and setting up servers from scratch (Linux & Windows)
Responsibilities
- Design client-side and server-side architecture
- Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
- Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
- Write new and maintain existing APIs
- Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
- Create security and data protection settings
