The Student Technical Assistant classification is used to hire college students pursuing degrees in fields such as environmental science, geology, engineering, mathematics, chemistry and other qualifying degrees. The Student Technical Assistant will assist staff in either the Air and Radiation Administration, Water and Science Administration, or Land and Materials Administration. These positions will perform clerical duties, customer service and support. The student must be able to handle confidential information and work according to agency policies, procedures and guidelines. This is a temporary internship appointment for a Student Technical Assistant. The duration of the internship may not exceed 120 days.

Requirements

  • Students must have completed freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in an undergraduate environmental science program or other related majors such as biology, earth science, geology, engineering, computer science, mathematics and other qualifying degrees.
  • Students that have recently completed their senior year in undergraduate education must be enrolled in a Master's study program to be eligible. Enrollment documentation in the master’s study program must be submitted when appointed to the position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Suite tools (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
  • All Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States under the immigration and Reform Control Act.

Nice To Haves

  • It is preferred that the Student Technical Assistant has a degree in the following: Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Political Science, Pre-Law, or other qualifying Environmental Science degree.
