About The Position

The mission of CWC Kansas City is to provide an excellent public education focused on developing and demonstrating understanding while building connections within the school community.

The Student Support Coordinator supports the Summer School Director in implementing a summer learning program that reflects the school’s mission, instructional model, and commitment to joyful, engaging learning. This role helps ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment where students can strengthen academic skills, participate in enrichment activities, and build social-emotional skills. The coordinator works closely with teachers and staff to support student success and smooth daily operations at the summer school site.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Summer School Director to implement a summer program aligned with the school’s mission and instructional approach, supporting both academic learning and engaging enrichment experiences.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where all students feel supported and ready to participate.
• Provide support to students who are struggling with behavior or regulation by offering opportunities for reflection, calming strategies, and re-engagement in learning.
• Assist teachers and staff in ensuring students remain engaged and supported during academic instruction, transitions, and activities throughout the day.
• Coordinate and facilitate activities for students that promote engagement, teamwork, and enjoyment during the summer program.
• Support the planning and supervision of field trips by attending with classrooms and helping ensure student safety and participation.
• Assist the Summer School Director with scheduling, daily logistics, and the establishment of effective routines and structures at the off-site program location.
• Help monitor student movement, transitions, and participation to maintain orderly and efficient program operations.
• Collaborate with staff to address student needs and support a positive community among students and adults.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the summer school program.
