Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Success and Support, the Student Success Coach is responsible for working with first-year students to ensure a successful transition to college, educating them about university-wide expectations and resources, and guiding them through a process of developing individualized plans for success. Primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive, regular, and proactive academic and transitional support through developmentally-appropriate advising that holistically supports the student in all aspects of their lives - academic, personal, social, and career. The Student Success Coach will support students when facing academic, financial, or personal challenges, make referrals as appropriate and engage in ongoing contact with faculty and staff as needed. The coach also assists with the delivery of activities and programs for first-year students that promote a sense of belonging and connection to their peers, to McDaniel College, and to the community.
