About The Position

The Student Personnel Assistant Officer is responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to the student personnel function in accordance with government and management directives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to the student personnel function in accordance with government and management directives.
  • Coordinate the disposition of student cases with California State Judicial Systems.
  • Act as a liaison between students and immigration officials; assist students in preparation of paperwork to obtain immigration authorization.
  • Maintain and track negative incident reports, student contracts, student payroll deductions and student bus tickets in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines.
  • Process student violations, leaves, excuser codes and termination files in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines.
  • Prepare center review board packets and center review board minutes.
  • Perform other general clerical duties including but not limited to typing, correspondence, form letters, forms, reports, etc.
  • Proofread, copy and file documents, process incoming and outgoing mail, answer telephone and receive visitors.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
