The Student Personnel Assistant Officer is responsible for performing clerical tasks, managing systems, and adhering to procedures related to the student personnel function, in compliance with government and management directives. Key duties include coordinating student cases with California State Judicial Systems, acting as a liaison between students and immigration officials, and assisting with immigration paperwork. The role also involves maintaining and tracking various student records such as negative incident reports, contracts, payroll deductions, and bus tickets, as well as processing student violations, leaves, excuser codes, and termination files. The officer prepares center review board packets and minutes, performs general clerical duties like typing, correspondence, and report generation, and handles incoming/outgoing mail, telephone calls, and visitors. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a safe and clean work area, providing positive customer service to students and staff, participating in student employability programs, enforcing the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy, and promoting Career Success Standards through modeling appropriate behaviors and mentoring students. The incumbent is also responsible for student and property accountability and adherence to safety practices, and may perform other duties as assigned by management.
