About The Position

Help support the student team with executing student ministry strategies and connecting relationally with students. Ministry/Department: Family Minsitry/Students Supervisor : Student Minister Supervises : None Environment : Office / Community Employment Type : Part Time, Seasonal (10-12 Month Term) Schedule : 16 variable hours / week FLSA : Non-Exempt

Requirements

  • As a religious organization, all employees must affirm and adhere to the Church’s Doctrinal Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for involvement with the ministry. This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.
  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord.
  • Active participation at Northwest Bible Church during employment.
  • Ability to exhibit energy, fun and excitement.
  • Strong people skills with an ability to relate to all ages.
  • A willingness to learn and receive feedback.
  • Respect for parents and their role as the God-given authority in their child’s life.
  • Able to work cooperatively as a team-player with all members of the church staff.
  • Enrolled at a higher education institution with an interest in exploring pathways toward vocational ministry.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Student Minister, provide support to the implementation of key methods, best practices, polices and procedures of the student ministry.
  • Through both direct participation and administrative support, provide assistance in weekly worship services in the form of teaching opportunities, games, announcements, and helping lead small groups when necessary.
  • Attend and help execute student ministry services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
  • Accept opportunities to teach in student ministry, lead devotions during team meetings, and meet with pastoral staff.
  • Meet with ministry leaders to gain feedback and grow in ministry skills
  • Assist in planning and executing student ministry events throughout the year such as retreats, camps, mission trips, and other fun events in town.
  • Arrange opportunities for students to connect with one another to foster relationships.
  • Attend student events in the community throughout the week.
  • Attend weekly student ministry team meeting.
  • Assist in various office responsibilities in order to prepare for ministry events and services. This will require some office hours outside of the ministry event hours.
  • Come ready to be a team player and learn the culture of Northwest Bible Church.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
