About The Position

The purpose of this job is to contribute to the set-up, organization, and smooth operation of a new biology research lab. The lab’s work focuses on stress tolerant annual killifish as a new model for the cellular stress response.

Requirements

• Must be pursing studies in the natural sciences.
• Ideal candidate will have cell stress research methods coursework or experience.
• Must have previous experience in set-up of biology research lab.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail.
• Must be able to manage and keep track of multiple tasks at once.
• Must communicate clearly and work well with others.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Quartzy software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inventory orders
• Organize supplies
• Help set up and test new equipment
• Wash laboratory dishware
• Sterilize laboratory equipment
• Prepare common laboratory solutions
• Help develop systems to maintain lab organization and productivity
• Contribute to on-going research on cellular and molecular mechanisms of killifish cell anoxia tolerance
