About The Position
Referee contests, leagues, and events hosted by MSU Intramurals Cooperate with other Intramural student staff Officiate impartially Scorekeep for contests, leagues, and events hosted by MSU Intramurals Communicate with game officials during contests Ensure accuracy of score reporting and statistics Assist professional staff and recreation student building managers with setup and teardown before and after MSU Intramurals Events Assist in the promotion and marketing of MSU Intramurals Leagues and Tournaments Notify proper authorities and full-time staff of all incidents, accidents, injuries and emergencies Assist with MSU Intramurals inventory and maintenance needs Attend annual MSU Wellness Center Staff Training Assist with MSU Wellness Center Events (e.g. RecFest, Flannel Fest, Wellness Fair) Demonstrate a personal lifestyle that promotes wellness Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- CPR certification (classes provided upon hiring if needed)
- Ability to referee OR scorekeep for multiple sports
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Customer service skills
- Excellent ability to handle confrontation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Certification or previous training as a referee
- 2+ semesters of MSU student employment eligibility remaining
- Customer service experience
- Previous participation in MSU Intramurals
Responsibilities
