The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is seeking a creative, organized and enthusiastic individual to serve as a water quality intern. ABOUT US For more than a decade, MARC has been at the forefront of environmental protection efforts in the Kansas City region. MARC has established innovative planning and policy programs in the air, water, solid waste and emerging energy sectors. Through these programs, MARC works with local governments, the EPA, the respective environmental protection agencies in both Kansas and Missouri and the public to preserve and protect our region’s most valuable natural resources and to ensure that communities and individuals incorporate sustainable practices in both their current and future plans and activities. ABOUT THIS POSITION This internship will support two key initiatives — The internship would have two primary focuses 1) Our reach and education for the regional water quality program (including promoting the Mid‑America Green Stormwater Infrastructure Certification Program) and 2) supporting the launch of the new KC Rainkeepers website. The Water Quality intern may work full time during the summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year. Daytime scheduling will be flexible with hybrid work available. Interns must have reliable transportation to the MARC offices for in-person meetings. Occasional weekend or evening event work may be required. This internship will span from May through December 2026. There may be an opportunity for the internship to extend into the spring 2026 semester.
