About The Position

Sentinel is seeking a Student Information Systems (SIS) Specialist to support one of our customers. This role will focus on improving and stabilizing existing systems by cleaning up data, making necessary corrections, and streamlining processes. The ideal candidate will help reduce unnecessary customizations by leveraging built-in system functionality to improve efficiency and maintainability. Strong attention to detail is essential, as this individual will be responsible for ensuring application settings and data accuracy. In addition, the SIS Specialist will provide hands-on customer service and support, assisting staff on a one-on-one basis, guiding them through system workflows, and delivering personalized training as needed. This is a contract-to-hire position and requires onsite work at the client location in West Chicago, Illinois .

Requirements

  • Must have experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS), preferably PowerSchool
  • Minimum of two years of post-secondary education in Computer Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage and support all aspects of local information systems, including but not limited to eSchool Plus (SIS), Destiny (LLC), SchoolPace (American Reading Company), Read 180, Performance PLUS, and AIMSWeb
  • Experience coordinating and administering data transfers to and from the ISBE Student Information System
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software and hardware
  • Experience supporting applications within an educational environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and support skills for both hardware and software
  • Ability to ensure compliance with security and data governance standards
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand, walk and sit
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
