About The Position

This position will have the opportunity to work on projects and tasks to help design and streamline workflows that support responsible AI practices, combining process mapping with automation initiatives to improve efficiency and compliance across AI governance activities. An ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in business administration, operations management, information systems, a healthcare-related or similar field and has a strong interest in business operations, technology, and data ethics. The program provides an opportunity for students to acquire process development, process automation and AI governance skills, gaining real-world experience and see emerging technologies as they are used in the field. Most of this work will be done in a remote setting, with some work done in the office. Candidates will be exposed to many areas of the AI governance field and gain an understanding of managing that work in a healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Map Current Processes: Document existing AI governance workflows, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Design Future-State Processes: Develop optimized process flows aligned with governance standards and business objectives. Support Automation Initiatives: Collaborate with technology teams to identify areas for automation and assist in implementing tools that streamline governance tasks. Analyze Efficiency Gains: Track and report on improvements in process efficiency and compliance after automation. Prepare Communication Materials: Create clear documentation and presentations for leadership on process changes and automation benefits. Learn - The position responsibilities vary throughout Cincinnati Children's and are established according to the needs and resources of the Cincinnati Children's department providing the placement opportunity. Gain hands-on experience in designing and automating processes within a cutting-edge AI governance environment. Work closely with both business and technology teams, developing valuable cross-functional collaboration skills. Build a practical understanding of governance frameworks and compliance requirements specific to AI, preparing you for future opportunities in technology-driven business operations and data ethics. Gain experience and awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in healthcare/research professions. Gain an understanding of different health/research careers, including the cultures and work environments that can be unique to a particular healthcare/research profession. Develop an understanding of the critical connections between education, work and goal attainment. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Complete Cincinnati Children's training required for the position. Adhere to safe work practices. Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department / unit.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting college program.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in business process analysis, operations, or management.
  • Interest in AI governance and technology-driven process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio) and hands-on experience with basic automation tools (e.g. PowerAutomate)
