About The Position

The objective of the counselor is to provide students and parents with a positive understanding of the financial aid process and to assist them in funding their education. Job duties include the following: Job Duties and Responsibilities: Counseling of current and prospective students, with a focus on our Hilbert College Global (HCG) students, in all matters pertaining to financial aid and the payment of tuition and fees; by appointment, walk in, phone or by video conference. Communicates effectively with students regarding their individual status in the Financial Aid application process. Facilitate the packaging process by advising students as to the proper filing of required applications and supporting documentation. Manage the application, delivery and certification of Federal PLUS and alternative loans. Review PLUS denials and requests on a case-by-case basis. Perform verification including requesting additional documentation as needed. Provides educational services: exit interviews, financial aid nights, open houses, orientation, FAFSA workshops, internal training, default management, and financial literacy activities. Post documents received in system. Perform TAP estimates. Other duties as assigned, willingness to cross train.

  • Experience in financial aid process and delivery systems at a not-for-profit institution of higher education
