About The Position
The Student Exhibition Assistant will participate in a Business of Art and Design x Ringling Galleries INDEX Immersive project to reimagine, adapt, and install the Nothing New: Archives of Affection exhibition at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center (SNMVC) in New York City. This role provides hands-on experience in professional exhibition management, professional art handling, institutional collaboration, and traveling exhibition logistics. Requirements
- Must have successfully completed the BOAD 455 Exhibition Design and Management course
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a professional setting
- Interest in exhibition design, museum work, or cultural programming
- Must be available/willing to travel to NY on May 16 to install the exhibition on-site
Responsibilities
- Adapt exhibition materials to align with the new design concept and Stonewall’s spatial requirements
- Communicate professionally with Stonewall staff, institutional partners, and collaborators
- Recreate and adapt didactic, interpretive, and marketing materials for the Stonewall exhibition space
- Coordinate and execute exhibition installation in New York City
- Assist with art handling, packing, shipping logistics, and documentation for a traveling exhibition
- Participate in the exhibition installation and opening in May and represent Ringling College on-site
