INDEX-Designer/Animator

Ringling College of Art and DesignLexington, MA
1d

About The Position

This partnership engages Ringling College INDEX students to develop 5-10 animated videos for the interior lobby of the future hotel/condo at 777 Palm. Each student will focus on one of the Elements: Water, Air, Fire/Sun, Earth, and Foliage (inspired by the proximity of Selby Gardens). Each student will create 2-3 animations based on their 'element'. They will visualize these 2-3 animations in 4 different screen ratios to show the potential use of the animation in different scenarios. One layout will be a square format, one will be a 16x9 TV format, one will be a thin banner, the last will be a tall column, showing how each animation might be used on various screen formats. The creative goal is to create lush animated imagery that feels welcoming, intriguing, and visually appealing. The animations will be in the range of 30 seconds each. Students will keep in mind the element of interactivity as they create their imagery. Ideally, they will also include a rough mock-up to see the animation in context (knowing full well the actual space has not yet been defined.)
