About The Position

Student Employee position for Financial Aid/Veterans Office POSITION TITLE : Student Employee, Financial Aid/Veterans Resource Center STATUS : Part-time DEPARTMENT : Financial Aid REPORTS TO : Coordinator, Financial Aid CLASSIFICATION : Non-exempt MINIMUM PAY RATE : $15.00 per hour (Position is FWS Eligible)

Requirements

• GPA of 2.0 or above.
• Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attentiveness to detail, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and multitasking.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Perform general office duties within the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center.
• Assist students with general questions through email, Live Chat, in person, and by phone.
• Schedule appointments.
• Scan documents submitted to the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center.
• Create flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.
• Complete special projects as requested
• Gain knowledge of the financial aid/veterans' process.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
