About The Position

Description Of Job Duties 1. Apply knowledge of Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 to support student access to academics, housing, and all aspects of campus life. 2. Promote the ideals of disability as diversity and develop programming to support this initiative. 3. Provide information about the accommodation request process to new or prospective students. 4. Assist students with Early Alerts and provide academic coaching to support their educational needs. 5. Communicate with faculty about materials that need to be converted for students with disabilities and project manage the conversions between semesters. 6. Provide support to the DREAM (Disability Rights, Education, Activism, and Mentoring) chapter/student organization, and assist with program, planning, and implementation. 7. Develop and support ways to promote universal design to better serve student with disabilities, address campus barriers, and provide an enhanced experience for all students. 8. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills required. Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Intermediate skills using MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
