Provide Radiologic Technologist services in a hospital and/or clinic setting, Under the direction of the radiology manager with limited supervision, coordinates and oversees the educational activities of a college-based radiography program. Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concepts and reflects the KPNW mission and philosophy; The clinical coordinator shall be allowed time from regular duties to conduct or participate in all required tasks of the student program. Essential Responsibilities: Performing diagnostic radiological procedures, using knowledge, skills and abilities required for age of patient served to include: Routine, emergent, portable, surgical and fluoroscopic examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures. Understand, use and troubleshoot the current RIS and PACS system. Work with Radiologist: on film Quality Assurance, exam clarification and provide radiologist assistance on an as needed basis. Patient/transport. Restocking supplies/cleaning. Provide clinical instruction and supervision of students. Arrange for direct clinical supervision of students in the first year of the clinical education or until a student achieves clinical competency in a given examination. Arrange for indirect supervision in the second year of the clinical education by a licensed radiographer that is available for immediate assistance to the student. Ensure that a licensed radiographer is present in the immediate area and reviews all radiographic images before dismissing the patient or forwarding the images for interpretation. Acceptable images must be reviewed and the student shall consult with the radiographer before attempting to repeat the image. Conduct clinical orientation for new students. Make clinical room rotation/shift assignments for students. Advise students at least mid-term and end of term. Arrange In-service clinical instruction requested by academic instructors. Attend and participate in the Radiography Advisory and Clinical Instructors Charge meetings on a monthly basis with Portland Community College and affiliates. Inform Radiography Program applicants about the clinical experience when observing at your clinical site. Participate in the Radiography program student selection process at Portland Community College. Assume full responsibility for and submit to Portland Community College the required clinical records at designated intervals. Maintaining records, such as: PCC Radiography Curriculum. CIIC Policy and Procedure book. Student Handbook, Program/College. Participates in on-call or standby schedule as assigned.

  • Minimum Two (2) years of professional experience as a Radiographer with variety in Imaging.
  • Associates degree in Radiologic Science or related field
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington) OR Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification
  • Basic Life Support within 1 months of hire
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in clinical instructions and student assessment through experience or coursework pertinent to the profession.
  • Qualified in appropriate education methodologies through classroom and clinical experience.
  • Daily use of diagnostic equipment, Imaging and health care computer system.
  • Demonstrates customer-focused service skills.
  • Ability to use and apply excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all personnel.
  • Proficient knowledge of radiology equipment and exams.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • Minimum two (2) year JRCERT approved program to include clinical setting in an acute care facility.
  • Previous student coordinator experience.
  • Organizational skills, time management, prioritization, planning; attention to detail; problem solving, decision making, judgment;technical skills; initiative; communication, interpersonal skills, customer relations, organizational relations.
  • Knowledge of Policies and Procedures.
