We're seeking a motivated freshman or sophomore undergraduate student to join our team as a part-time Student Laboratory Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional laboratory setting while supporting innovative scientific research. This role offers flexible scheduling during the academic year and the opportunity to continue working over the summer. This is a part-time role paying $21.00 per hour and requires onsite work in Madison, WI.
Requirements
- Current freshman or sophomore enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university or college
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to detail and consistency when performing repetitive tasks
- Dependable, organized, and responsible
- Availability during regular weekday business hours
- Interest in science or healthcare fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Willingness and ability to spend 75% of the workday walking the facility
Responsibilities
- Wash and maintain laboratory glassware and supplies
- Prepare and aliquot laboratory solutions
- Perform general laboratory cleaning and organization
- Track, inventory, and order laboratory supplies
- Assist scientists with experiments as time permits
