This position is located in Defiance County and Hours are flexible. This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks . The Student Assistant will work under the direction of the 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator to provide support to a comprehensive positive youth development program. The 4-H Student Assistant will accomplish this through support and leadership that includes the following responsibilities: Provide support for 4-H project judging; preparation of 4-H Camp and coordination of registration, t-shirt orders, and Cloverbud Day Camp; assisting with the Defiance County Fair, including preparing fair mailings, coordinating Jr. Fair entries, trophies, 4-H club booths, and signage found during the fair; and assisting with the Defiance County Soil and Water Day Camp. The Student Assistant will also have to complete other duties as assigned. Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
