We are currently seeking a Structural Engineering Co-op to join our office in Philadelphia, PA . Our Facilities & Infrastructure Group has an available opportunity to provide a civil or structural engineering student with a hands-on internship experience. Our Facilities & Infrastructure Group provides structural and restoration engineering services for the assessment, rehabilitation and design of transportation, industrial, educational, healthcare, and commercial facilities. Recent assignments of the Facilities & Infrastructure Group have included: Vehicle Maintenance Facilities, Parking Facilities, Marine Terminals, Piers, Warfs, Industrial and Commercial Buildings, Electrical Facilities, Catenary Structures, Environmental Structures, and Pedestrian Bridges.

Requirements

Civil/Structural engineering student working towards a Bachelor of Science degree
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or STAAD software

Responsibilities

Assists the senior engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and learns the discipline technical policies and procedures.
Under supervision, participates in technical studies, investigations and designs on assigned projects.
Assists the project team in the production of projects on time, within budget and of high technical quality.
Learns company technical policies, procedures and standards during the execution of projects for clients.
Under supervision, assists in the execution of design processes on assigned projects and requests assistance from senior technical staff when needed.
Assists the design team in the coordination of project designs with other disciplines.
Observes and learns the execution of specific engineering studies and design analyses.
Accompanies senior technical staff in performing on- site inspections during construction and learns how to communicate design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers.
Actively participates in professional organizations where the technical reputation and image of the firm may be enhanced.
