About The Position

SUMMARY: The Strengthening Family Coordinator will function as part of the larger CUA team responsible for achieving the target goals of improving safety, permanency, and well-being of children, youth, and families. This position works with other members of the CUA Community Engagement Team, along with working with the Case Managers to ensure the appropriate utilization and documentation of the Strengthening Families Framework both in the treatment plans and in practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field including sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or education, with at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in one or more of the following: development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures of therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.
  • Two years experience in Child Welfare or a related field.
  • Valid, timely Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI clearances that meet all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Parent Cafes and other support groups for families in the community.
  • Develop and conduct Strengthening Families orientations and workshops for the CUA staff and the Community.
  • Utilize Strengthening Families framework in the performance of duties.
  • Train Facilitators and Parent Cafe Hosts.
  • Immediately report to supervisor any concerns about the safety of children or youth in the household
  • Complete all paperwork and other documentation timely and in accordance with the DHS Strengthening Family guidelines
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the community, which would involve evenings and weekends.
  • Prepare and host community events/meetings, at least twice a month
  • Assist in the identification of teaming and parent café sites in the CUA are
