About The Position

FX Studios offers an all-encompassing 10-week internship program requiring a minimum 250-hour commitment. The program is designed for interns to develop skills in strength, conditioning, and flexibility program design and monitoring for diverse demographics, including athletes and clients. Interns will also assist with fitness testing, teach proper lifting techniques, identify and mitigate injury risks, and develop motivational procedures. The internship provides exposure to the personal training field, opportunities to work with the Wounded Warrior Project, and experience in planning and running charity events. Ideal candidates are typically rising juniors in exercise science with some coaching experience, but motivated individuals with a background in sports and wellness who are not currently enrolled in academia are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must possess a positive attitude and a desire to learn in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor strength, conditioning and flexibility programs for a diverse demographic, including athletes and clients, in both an individual and group training setting
  • Assist in fitness testing, computation of results, and in individual assessments
  • Teach proper lifting techniques and assist in spotting lifts
  • Anticipate potential risks of injury, take measures to remove them, and alert participants of them
  • Develop effective motivating procedures to assist trainees in achieving maximum potential in all areas of performance
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of computer skills on Microsoft Office
  • Work and communicate with coaches, trainers, physical therapists, and medical staff
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the facility and its equipment
  • Develop a knowledge of the personal training field and how to be successful
  • Working with the Wounded Warrior Project helping create workouts for our soldiers
  • Planning and running a charity event for the local community
