About The Position

OrthoArizona is seeking to become the leader in the field of comprehensive Musculo-skeletal training and treatment provision for athletes and Youth Sports. With multiple facilities distributed across the Greater Phoenix region, we are best placed to provide premier levels of coaching to individuals, teams, and communities towards achieving higher levels of performance. As we develop and expand, we are pioneering the delivery of evidence-informed practice across training, movement and sports / medical science to lead the field in athlete development & return to performance from injury.   We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our team in Northeast Scottsdale, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching individuals and teams to enhance their performance, achieve goals, and unlock their full potential, to join our growing team and deliver our athlete development programs under the guidance of our Director of Athletic Development. We are seeking energetic team players with experience in strength & conditioning to join our integrated delivery team. These positions will have a focus on delivering sports-specific team programs for our partner clubs & schools, as well as working with other organizations within our customer base, across the greater Phoenix region as our network expands. The coaching work will typically (although not exclusively) be in the afternoons and evenings, and may include weekend work. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Performance Coach to join our team in Northeast Scottsdale, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching individuals and teams to enhance their performance, achieve goals, and unlock their full potential.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Performance Coach or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of performance improvement methodologies and coaching techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their best.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • 2+ years of experience in sports performance training.
  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science or equivalent program.
  • NSCA licensed other industry qualifications may be accepted.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications or training in coaching, sports psychology, or related disciplines preferred.
  • CSCS Strongly encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility of training Volleyball club team for strength and conditioning as well as helping with Soccer club team
  • Will fill remaining hours with 1 on 1 and small group personalized training.
  • Work closely with clients to assess current performance levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop personalized coaching plans tailored to individual or team needs.
  • Provide ongoing support, motivation, and feedback to help clients reach their performance goals.
  • Utilize proven coaching techniques and tools to enhance mental and physical performance.
  • Track progress and adjust coaching strategies as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to create a holistic approach to performance enhancement.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and research in performance coaching and related fields.
  • Coaching and assisting athletes in a safe, legal, moral, ethical manner to achieve their goals.
  • Conducting on-site assessments, delivering updated training plans and/or re-evaluating processes as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Deliver and help build the developmentally appropriate sports-specific program for male and female athletes to deliver against the objectives for the clubs / schools
  • Have experience at delivering on-field and weight room based strength & conditioning programs
  • Contribute to the development of the Organizations Athletic Performance program to provide consistent high-level training and injury prevention training throughout the Phoenix area
  • Deep understanding of athlete performance programing with one sport or a range of sports
  • Understands developmentally appropriate training processes
  • Participating in staff education covering all aspects of OrthoArizona programs.
  • Maintain professional credentials as required including attending necessary continuing education courses.
  • Fosters a culture of outstanding client and customer service showing courtesy in interactions with patients/clients, providers, and co-workers
  • Presents good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Responds promptly to athletes, coaches, co-workers and provider requests
