Strategy & Operations Summer Intern

RejiggChicago, IL
Onsite

About The Position

Rejigg helps small business owners sell their companies by connecting them with qualified buyers, aiming to build a more transparent, founder-friendly marketplace for business acquisitions. The company is scaling quickly and is a fast-growing, VC-backed startup. This summer, Rejigg is offering a Strategy & Operations Intern position, designed for a hands-on generalist to work across various aspects of the business. This is presented as a significant learning opportunity, a 'crash course in what it actually takes to build and run a company,' focusing on real, impactful projects rather than a narrow task list. The ideal candidate is a curious, motivated self-starter eager to experience working at an early-stage startup.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior (completing sophomore year this spring).
  • Able to be based in Chicago for the summer to work in-person at the River North office.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to shifting priorities and diverse work types.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, demonstrating follow-through without extensive supervision.
  • Clear communicator, capable of writing clean emails, summarizing conversations, and asking effective questions.
  • Genuinely curious, asking "why" and seeking to understand how things work.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or interest in business, economics, entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • Involvement in a consulting club, investment club, or entrepreneurship organization on campus.
  • Any prior exposure to startups, small businesses, or sales — even through a class project, internship, or job.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly goal setting and retrospectives, including preparing agendas, gathering inputs, organizing documents, and tracking follow-ups with leadership.
  • Assist with one-off analyses, helping the leadership team examine emerging trends on the platform and creating clear slides or summaries for complex topics.
  • Support customer and user research by helping set up user interviews with buyers, sellers, or partners, and synthesizing themes and insights into clear notes or short summaries.
  • Work closely with the sales team and founders on day-to-day execution, including maintaining pipeline hygiene, updating CRM data, pulling sales reports, and supporting follow-up cadences.
  • Provide general operations support by tidying up workflows, documentation, and lightweight processes to enhance team efficiency.
  • Engage in special projects alongside leadership on short-term initiatives such as new partnerships, experiments, or product/operations tweaks, breaking ambiguous ideas into clear, actionable tasks.
