Supports the development and adaption of the assigned units´ strategy, and ensures implementation of respective programs and measures, for the organization assigned. The Strategy Manager is the single-point strategic owner of the long-term partnership between Siemens Healthineers and its strategic partner – a leading international cardiovascular medical device player for the development, commercialization, and scale-up of next-generation offerings. This role is accountable for defining, implementing, and evolving the strategic partnership to fully realize its full potential, while ensuring contractual rigor, operational excellence, and long-term strategic optionality. The position operates at the intersection of strategy, execution, governance, and relationship leadership, balancing near-term performance with long-term portfolio and ecosystem value creation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in: Strategy, business development, partnerships, or general management Medical devices, MedTech, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or complex technology ecosystems
  • Proven track record in managing large, strategic partnerships / strategic programs (customers, distributors, vendors, or suppliers).
  • Demonstrated success in delivering measurable business impact through partnerships and strategic programs in a win-win framework.
  • Experience working with exclusive distribution or channel-partner models strongly preferred.
  • Core Competencies Strategic thinking & analytical rigor (market modeling, scenario planning, business cases).
  • Executive presence and credibility at C-suite level.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong program and performance management capabilities.
  • Advanced negotiation, expectation management, and contract acumen.
  • High emotional intelligence; ability to navigate ambiguity, conflict, and competing incentives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership Ownership Act as the end-to-end strategic owner of the Siemens Healthineers– and the leading medical device players partnership. Translate contractual frameworks into clear strategic intent, operating models, and growth roadmaps. Continuously evolve the partnership beyond execution into a strategic growth platform.
  • Governance & Executive Alignment Design, manage, and orchestrate joint governance structures, including: Executive Steering Committees Operational and Program Reviews Innovation and Portfolio Councils Prepare and lead C-level discussions, ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and trade-offs. Serve as a trusted sparring partner to senior leadership on both sides.
  • Annual Strategic & Operating Planning Lead the annual joint strategic planning cycle, including: Market and growth modeling (USA & Japan focus) Global expansion plans beyond USA and Japan Baseline and stretch targets Mutual expectation setting Risk and scenario planning Drive joint budget planning, investment prioritization, and resource alignment.
  • Performance & Value Management Define and track joint KPIs and balanced scorecards covering: Revenue and growth milestones Market development, access, penetration and conversion metrics Product adoption and clinical utilization Operational and supply-chain readiness Ensure fact-based performance management, early risk identification, and corrective actions. Translate insights into portfolio and roadmap implications.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and sustain deep, trust-based relationships across: Executive leadership Commercial and marketing teams R&D and clinical development Operations, quality, and regulatory functions Demonstrate exceptional ability to “read the room,” manage tension, and align diverse incentives in complex matrix environments.
  • Contract, Negotiation & Expectation Management Own contractual interpretation, compliance, and evolution in close collaboration with Legal and Finance. Lead complex commercial and strategic negotiations, balancing firmness with partnership mindset. Proactively manage expectations to ensure win-win outcomes and long-term value preservation.
  • Long-Term Portfolio & Ecosystem Strategy Provide strategic input into: Long-term product and technology roadmap decisions Portfolio prioritization and lifecycle management Future partnership extensions or adjacencies Act as an internal thought leader on partnership-led growth models in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.
