Primary Purpose Leads enterprise strategic workforce planning efforts to inform future talent needs and identify workforce investments critical to business readiness, aligning talent supply with business demand. Uses data-driven approaches to forecast workforce needs, identify gaps, and inform talent strategies that drive measurable people and business results. Works with the Director, Workforce Planning and Talent Management to ensure the organization has the skills and capabilities to achieve the business strategy. This highly consultative role liaises with finance, business strategic planning, information technology, and other business leaders to align workforce plans with strategic goals. This is a multiple‑location posting. The selected candidate may be based out of our Exelon Corporate Office locations in IL, DC, MD, or PA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, psychology or related field
  • 7-10+ years in workforce planning, HR analytics, or strategic HR roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience with design and implementation of strategic workforce planning
  • Experience working with lines of business/occupational groups and competency models
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools
  • Adept at using quantitative and qualitative data to inform strategies and demonstrate results/impact
  • Advanced knowledge of workforce analytics, succession planning
  • Strong consulting, storytelling, and influencing skills
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships and working relationships across organizational boundaries
  • Strong business acumen, project management, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to rotate into succession planning and performance management, leadership development, and organizational learning scopes

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in strategic workforce planning (WPI, HCI)
  • Proficiency in data modeling and forecasting tools
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Experience as an HR Business Partner
  • Experience with union environments and frontline workforce learning and development, ideally in energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Specialized skills may include organization and process redesign and change management, leadership development, or performance development.

Responsibilities

  • Co-develops a strategic workforce planning philosophy, strategy, and tools with HR, business leaders, and other key internal stakeholders across the enterprise. Partners with Finance, HR, and business leaders to align workforce plans with strategic goals, and to align scenario planning approaches, developing partnerships to advance a collaboration framework that engages business leads and talent practitioners from across the enterprise, working collaboratively to design and implement a practical total workforce planning approach that benefits Exelon and its individual business segments (operating companies). Conducts scenario planning and external demand factors analysis. (35%)
  • Develops and maintains workforce planning models and dashboards. Partners with HR and business units to leverage business and workforce analytics in communicating about the workforce, planning for talent needs, and monitoring the impact/success of actions taken. (20%)
  • Seeks opportunities to leverage proven and emerging technologies, integrating workforce insights and scenario outcomes into succession, learning, and talent strategies. Supports enterprise capability planning and future skills identification. Integrates emerging AI capabilities and agentic AI task and role augmentation opportunities into workforce plans and scenario modeling, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs, digital transformation goals, skills inventories that inform workforce supply, and future-of-work strategies. (25%)
  • Interoperable role supports cross-functional initiatives in leadership and executive development, organizational learning and career development, and succession planning. (10%)
  • Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: Looks for opportunities to continuously improve and innovate existing processes, align future activities to direction of the business, and incorporate measures of impact and ROI into design of areas supported. Evaluates impact of strategic workforce planning using pre-determined ROI metrics and measures. (10%)

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $100,800.00/Yr. – $138,600.00/Yr.
