The Role GEOS Digital Transformation is seeking a forward‑thinking and analytically driven Strategic Road-mapping Lead to define, orchestrate, and maintain the enterprise roadmaps that guide GM’s digital transformation. This role is responsible for shaping long‑term strategic direction, aligning cross‑functional initiatives, and ensuring that investments, capabilities, and technology evolution are sequenced for maximum enterprise impact. The successful candidate will operate with broad influence, driving clarity, cohesion, and strategic foresight across GM’s ecosystem and ensuring alignment to the GM digital ecosystem architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Strategy, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, product strategy, portfolio management, or technology planning.
  • Experience with roadmap tools, strategic planning frameworks, and enterprise governance processes.

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic planning, product strategy, portfolio management, or technology planning.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional strategic initiatives in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong analytical, systems thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Strategy & Roadmap Architecture Lead the development and evolution of multi‑year strategic roadmaps across digital, operational, and technology domains.
  • Translate enterprise priorities into clear, actionable sequencing of initiatives, capabilities, and dependencies based on technology planning principles.
  • Establish frameworks and standards for roadmap creation, maintenance, and annual review/updates.
  • Cross‑Functional Alignment & Prioritization Partner with product, engineering, business, and strategy teams to ensure roadmaps reflect shared priorities and realistic delivery paths.
  • Facilitate alignment across leadership tiers, resolving conflicts and driving consensus on strategic direction.
  • Evaluate competing demands and guide prioritization decisions based on value, feasibility, and enterprise impact.
  • Strategic Insights & Foresight Analyze market trends, emerging technologies, and internal capability gaps to inform long‑term planning.
  • Identify strategic opportunities, risks, and inflection points that influence roadmap direction.
  • Provide scenario planning and strategic modeling to support executive decision‑making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and functional leaders, articulating roadmap rationale, tradeoffs, and strategic implications.
  • Develop and deliver clear, compelling roadmap visualizations, narratives, and updates.
  • Drive transparency and shared understanding of enterprise strategy across teams.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement Establish management and maintenance process to ensure roadmaps remain current, accurate, and aligned with evolving priorities.
  • Monitor execution progress and adjust roadmaps based on new insights, dependencies, or business shifts.
