About The Position

As a Strategic Intelligence Intern at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, you will be responsible for assisting with various strategic research requests, monitoring industry trends, collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and communicating recommendations via written reports. This internship offers hands-on experience applying strategic frameworks (e.g., SWOT, PESTLE, PrOACT), synthesizing expert interviews, and visualizing trends using tools like Excel and PowerBI. Interns will gain exposure to executive-level decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and real-world strategic planning, preparing them for future careers in strategy or analytics. “This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate in a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts program with at least 1 year of study, in one or more of the following majors: business administration, economics, finance, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Requires a minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Need to be self-motivated and be able to carry out activities with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into pieces that can be solved with data and analysis
  • Ability to organize and analyze information in a strategic framework, such as SWOT, PESTLE, or PrOACT
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ability to use tools like Excel and/or PowerBI to analyze data trends and insights
  • Skilled in gathering information from diverse sources and distilling it into strategic recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
