About The Position

The Strategic Health A&D Manager drives the company’s A&D engagement strategy within the healthcare sector, focusing on building preference and influencing specifications with Top Health A&D Giants and other key healthcare design firms. This role delivers high-impact touchpoints to build brand equity and expertise in healthcare environments, ensuring the company is positioned as the go-to partner for healthcare projects. The role works closely with internal sales and marketing teams, local market teams, and external stakeholders to support healthcare-specific Refuse to Lose (R2L) opportunities, ensuring successful project outcomes without taking ownership of execution.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead and align healthcare-focused strategies across A&D firms and internal teams.
  • Navigate the complexity of a matrixed organization to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare-focused A&D Giants, design firms, and internal A&D teams.
  • Demonstrate empathy and adaptability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Influence internal teams, external partners, and healthcare clients to achieve strategic goals.
  • Confidence in engaging all levels of influencers and decision makers up to Principal and C-Suite.
  • Strategic planning and execution of healthcare-specific A&D initiatives.
  • Data-driven decision-making to prioritize opportunities and measure ROI.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare market dynamics, operations, related policies, trends, and project needs.
  • Involvement and understanding of healthcare organizations: ACHA, AAHID, NIHD, Advisory Board, CHD etc.
  • Exceptional presentation and engagement skills tailored to healthcare audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex healthcare design ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Effective communication across internal teams, external stakeholders, and A&D communities.
  • Experienced speaker for various audiences: A&D, End-users, C-Suite decision makers, larger and smaller audiences, workshop/participatory formats (ability to spark and engage conversation), Experience presenting at conferences, Experience presenting to high-level/highly-knowledgeable health vertical decision makers.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare design workflows, regulatory standards, and project lifecycles.
  • Stong understanding of healthcare product requirements (finishes, regulatory requirements etc).
  • Skilled in leveraging analytics tools to track and report on healthcare A&D engagement outcomes.
  • Understanding of a research based approach to design decisions (especially important to our healthcare clients and decision makers who are all trained scientists).
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, healthcare design, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 20+ years of experience in A&D consulting, healthcare design, and business development roles.
  • Expertise in healthcare design trends, regulatory standards, and project workflows.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers in healthcare A&D firms and broader A&D teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in analytics/reporting platforms.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to engage with healthcare A&D firms, teams, and support key opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s healthcare-focused A&D strategy, aligning with the Top Health A&D Giants, healthcare-specific design firms, and relevant A&D teams.
  • Develop customized approaches to address healthcare design challenges and align solutions with client and industry needs.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in healthcare-focused A&D firms to drive specifications and brand preference.
  • Strategically activate the Health Experience Center at HQ, ensuring it serves as a dynamic hub for healthcare-focused client engagements, workshops, and showcases.
  • Plan and host immersive experiences for Top Health A&D Giants, demonstrating expertise and positioning the company as a leader in healthcare environments.
  • Co-plan and execute Health FutureX events to engage A&D leaders, share innovative healthcare insights, and foster collaboration across the industry.
  • Drive Top-to-Top strategic initiatives with Health A&D Giants, aligning resources and efforts to strengthen partnerships and secure healthcare specifications.
  • Partner closely with broader A&D teams to align healthcare strategies with the overall A&D Giants strategy.
  • Ensure seamless integration of healthcare initiatives into broader A&D efforts by sharing insights, tools, and resources.
  • Collaborate on joint engagements, including CEUs, workshops, and project presentations, to maximize influence across all relevant A&D stakeholders.
  • Deliver impactful engagements such as CEUs, design workshops, and thought leadership events tailored to healthcare A&D firms and teams.
  • Create opportunities for regular, meaningful interactions to strengthen relationships, build brand equity, and secure specifications.
  • Involve local market teams, MSMs, and dealer partners in key touchpoints as needed to enhance collaboration and outcomes.
  • Continue “Spotlight Series” – engage with A&D experts to share insights and industry trends (all verticals) with our internal and external partners through quarterly virtual presentations/facilitations. In doing this we strengthen our relationship with A&D experts and illustrate our desire for continued learning and partnership with A&D.
  • Actively support healthcare-specific R2L opportunities by providing strategic oversight and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Collaborate with local MSMs, dealer teams, and other sales roles to address challenges and support healthcare project success, while avoiding direct ownership of day-to-day execution.
  • Represent KII at tradeshows, events, panel discussions, and conferences to position the company as a leader in healthcare design. Build relationships with industry associations and decision-makers to amplify KII’s presence.
  • Partner with brand and product marketing to align messaging and product development with healthcare client needs. Provide insights on trends, challenges, and competitive differentiation.
  • Share expertise on healthcare design trends and regulatory changes through internal coaching, training, and thought leadership content. Drive awareness and innovation within the healthcare-focused A&D community.
  • Work closely with Health Sales Managers (HSMs MSMs, dealer partners, and A&D teams to ensure cohesive execution of healthcare strategies.
  • Partner with internal marketing and product teams to develop messaging, tools, and solutions tailored for healthcare A&D needs.
  • Align healthcare efforts with the broader A&D strategy to maximize synergy and impact.
  • Track industry trends, healthcare-specific regulations, and design innovations to inform strategy and support A&D client needs.
  • Analyze healthcare A&D engagement data to measure success, identify opportunities, and refine strategic initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership, A&D teams, and local market stakeholders to align efforts and share insights.
