About The Position

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) – Energy & Infrastructure is responsible for owning, managing, and expanding relationships with a defined group of Tier-1 energy infrastructure customers, including large upstream, midstream, and industrial operators. This role focuses on long-term account leadership rather than transactional selling with the goal of significantly growing the Black Label Services sales into the Midstream and Upstream markets. The Strategic Account Manager serves as the primary commercial interface between the customer and the company, coordinating internally across engineering, operations, service, and leadership to ensure consistent execution, profitable growth, and high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven success over multiple years in B2B sales and/or account management experience in energy or industrial markets
  • Experience managing large, multi-site enterprise customers
  • Understanding of midstream, pipeline, or industrial operations
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and complex buying processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of managing sales into large midstream and/or upstream operators
  • Background in engineered systems or industrial services
  • Familiarity with MSAs and national account structures

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for assigned strategic accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering, operations, procurement, maintenance, and executive stakeholders
  • Develop deep understanding of customer assets, standards, and commercial structures
  • Protect incumbent positions while expanding wallet share
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations on solution development
  • Lead opportunities from concept through proposal, award, and execution
  • Maintain accurate account forecasts and pipelines
  • Achieve significant year-over-year sales growth
  • Winning new strategic accounts
  • Develop and execute annual strategic account plans
  • Identify growth opportunities across regions and assets
  • Support pricing strategies aligned with margin objectives
  • Act as voice of the customer internally
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for execution and delivery
  • Resolve commercial or service issues
  • Ensure compliance with MSAs and safety requirements
