About The Position

The position of the Storekeeper is to oversee the replacement parts inventory for the Company’s fleet of buses, maintain orderly storage areas and accurate records, and purchase required parts and assemblies. Liberty Lines is a privately owned transportation company. Requirements

  • Required a minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent with 1 year experience in storekeeping, inventory, and recordkeeping in an automotive or truck parts warehouse, repair center, dealership, or similar facility.
  • Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to acquire and maintain a forklift certification.
  • Must have knowledge of bookkeeping and manage inventory.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to use computer to conduct data entry daily.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend manuals.
  • Basic understanding of automotive parts and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to identify and locate different types of parts.
  • Ability to climb stairs, reach above shoulder level, walk extended distance, stand, kneel, sit for an undefined amount of time, bend, lift, push and pull without assistance up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an environment with dust, fumes, exhaust, various noise levels, various temperatures, indoor and outdoor weather conditions for an undefined amount of time.
  • Ability to work days, evenings (including overnights), weekdays, weekends, holidays and overtime hours
  • Ability to travel to both company work facilities when needed.
  • Ability to use all office equipment.
  • Ability to read, write and converse in English.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat, cold and in a damp environment.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing computerized parts catalog system and maintains a running inventory of regular and special-order parts and supplies.
  • Dispensing parts to service mechanics.
  • Identifying optimum sources for replacement parts and assemblies.
  • Purchasing standard items.
  • Receiving and inspecting incoming shipments for correct quantity and quality of materials.
  • Processes invoices for payments and maintains proper records.
  • Obtaining quotes on major expenditures and obtains approval for non-routine purchases.
  • Maintains knowledge of pricing, changes in parts, and technical service bulletins through collaboration with sales and other company staff.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Receiving, unloading, and restocking shelf supplies.
  • Maintain receipts, records and withdrawals of the stockroom.
  • Returning, packing and labeling supplies.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.
  • Must be able to run errands as requested.
  • Performing all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Maintain, organize, and clean stock room.
  • Serves as a backup Vault Puller to meet company demands.
