About The Position

As a Systems Monitor, you provide effective customer service at the check lanes in the front-end department. This role also involves assisting the store team with tasks related to pricing, preventative maintenance, and electronic systems support. You will utilize technology to complete activities and tasks, aiming to create positive and lasting impacts on customers. Responsibilities include completing transactions, handling money responsibly, maintaining accuracy of point-of-sale purchases, and using handheld devices and computers for price changes and ad corrections. The position also requires printing and hanging signage, completing inventory on store handheld devices and printers, and assisting with troubleshooting issues related to computers, registers, or printers in the store, often partnering with the Meijer IT Support department. The role emphasizes good customer interaction through eye contact, body language, a friendly and outgoing attitude, and the ability to handle customer questions appropriately to build trustful relationships.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually
  • Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology
  • Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary
  • Desire to work with customers
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Friendly outgoing attitude
  • Ability to operate cashier register system

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks
  • Create ‘WOW’ moments that have a positive and lasting impact on our customers
  • Complete transactions, handle money in all forms responsibly and maintain accuracy of point-of-sale purchases
  • Utilize handheld devices and computers to complete price changes, or ad corrections
  • Print and hang ad corrections or signage as needed
  • Complete inventory on store handheld devices and printers
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues with computers, registers, or printers in the store
  • Partner with Meijer IT Support department
  • Use good eye contact and body language, displaying a friendly and outgoing attitude
  • Be prepared to handle customer questions adequately and appropriately
  • Build trustful relationships with customers to encourage return visits
