Install and maintain all SAN and NAS storage infrastructure hardware, software and services. Administer storage and backup infrastructure for the University Data Center's administrative services and most academic data requirements. Report on and manages the performance of assigned storage and related servers. Maintain the security of the server and storage infrastructure by following established security procedures. Support assigned storage applications and services to ensure that storage-related applications run correctly. Draft, develop and update procedures and standards for installation and maintenance of storage infrastructure. Troubleshoot all storage infrastructure issues including performance, availability and utilization. Capacity Planning/Forecasting Analyze computing needs based on customer requirements and organizational projects. Identify gaps in processes and services offered. Recommend cost-effective solutions to address these gaps. Secure quotes from vendors to address storage and server needs. Server Backup Administers the backup process for all academic and administrative servers across the University. Ensures that the backup of servers is performed on a scheduled basis. Disaster Recovery Follow defined recovery strategies for server and storage infrastructure. Develop, test, implement and document procedures to ensure that disaster recovery strategies support ITS' defined business continuity objectives. Actively participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and drills. Work Model: Hybrid. 3 days in-person required at the discretion of management. Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges: Associate Storage Systems Administrator - Salary range 76,000 to 95,000: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field. One year of experience in a technical environment with some storage operations or server technology responsibilities. Storage Systems Administrator - Salary range 92,000 to 115,000: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field. Three years of experience implementing and administering high volume storage solutions in an enterprise environment. Senior Storage Systems Administrator -Salary range 107,000 to 134,200: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field. Five years of experience implementing and administering high volume storage solutions in an enterprise environment.
