As a Senior Storage System Administrator, at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world. There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients. Requirements

  • 5 years experience working with GDPS administration, including Global Mirror replication monitoring, maintenance, and 4‑site configurations.
  • 10 years experience in Cyber Resiliency technologies: CSM, Thin Provisioning, Safeguarded Copy, and Cyber Vault operations is preferred
  • Advanced DFSMShsm (HSM) administration, troubleshooting, and tuning.
  • Strong JCL development and diagnostic skills.
  • Programming & scripting: REXX, SAS
  • Storage utilities and services: ICKDSF, DFDSS, FDR, DSCLI, TDMF
  • Storage Management Subsystem: SMS, including design, debugging, and ACS routines
  • Tape and catalog management: RMM, ICF Catalog administration (monitoring, consolidation, reorganization, recovery)
  • Performance and data utilities: Syncsort, StopX37, SEA Soft, Dino Software tools
  • Storage Systems & Replication Technologies
  • IBM replication technologies: PPRC, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, Hiperswap failover/failback
  • Snapshot and point‑in-time technologies: FlashCopy
  • Disaster Recovery design, execution, and testing
  • RPO monitoring, reporting, and compliance oversight
  • DFSMS & DFSMShsm / HSM Expertise
  • Large enterprise HSM administration
  • Automatic backup, dump, migration tuning
  • ML1/ML2 optimization and performance analysis
  • Dataset recovery, catalog validation, and troubleshooting
  • Hardware & Virtual Tape Expertise
  • IBM TS7700 4‑Grid Virtual Tape systems, including performance monitoring and utilization analytics
  • IBM DS8000 configuration, migration, capacity planning, and health monitoring
  • Experience with both DSCLI and GUI‑based management tools
  • Operational & Support Responsibilities
  • 24×7 on‑call enterprise storage support- typically this should be 1 week a month
  • Customer‑facing technical meetings and solution discussions
  • Opening and managing IBM PMRs for storage‑related issues
  • Supporting hardware/software upgrades, migrations, and resiliency projects
  • Spreadsheet/report creation for operational insight, trending, and capacity planning
  • Participation in capacity & growth management and performance tuning initiatives
  • Proficient with customer‑specific tools, utilities, and reporting frameworks
