Contributes to system reliability by executing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on compressors and injection systems. Maintains accurate records and assists in troubleshooting to prevent operational disruptions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
  • Natural Gas Storage Operations - Understands principles of underground storage, pressure management, and gas injection/withdrawal processes to maintain system stability and meet demand requirements.
  • Compressor and Equipment Maintenance - Applies mechanical and electrical maintenance techniques to service compressors, valves, and injection systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety Standards - Interprets and applies environmental, health, and safety regulations to operational activities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local requirements.
  • SCADA and Digital Monitoring Systems - Utilizes Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems and digital dashboards to monitor real-time operational data and respond to abnormal conditions.
  • Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Practices - Implements maintenance strategies using condition-based monitoring, vibration analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance principles to reduce downtime.
  • Emergency Response and Incident Management - Executes emergency protocols during equipment failures or system disruptions, ensuring rapid restoration of service and compliance with safety procedures.
  • Technical Documentation and Reporting - Prepares accurate maintenance records, compliance reports, and operational summaries using CMMS and enterprise resource planning tools.
  • Data Analysis and Performance Optimization - Analyzes operational trends and equipment performance metrics to identify efficiency improvements and mitigate reliability risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Works effectively with gas control, transmission, engineering, and regulatory teams to align operational priorities and achieve system objectives.
  • Emerging Technologies and Digital Tools - Adopts advanced technologies such as IoT sensors, predictive analytics platforms, and digital twin modeling to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in natural gas compression or storage operations, along with prior experience using SAP and working with Caterpillar reciprocating compressors.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical problems, and evaluates and optimizes mechanical efficiencies.
  • Plans upcoming projects and tasks; coordinates and communicates with vendors, contractors, encroachers, and others to order materials or parts and to schedule repair work.
  • Completes required paperwork, including reports, requisitions, and related documentation while training and leading field O&M employees in technical practices as well as company administrative and operations policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine operational checks on compressors and injection systems.
  • Performs minor repairs on mechanical components using torque wrenches and alignment tools.
  • Calibrates pressure gauges and flow meters for accuracy.
  • Monitors system pressures and temperatures using SCADA interfaces.
  • Completes preventive maintenance tasks according to digital schedules.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance actions in CMMS.
  • Assists in troubleshooting equipment issues under guidance.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards during work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
